Every third Saturday of the month, pack-up your embroidery machine and join us in the Let’s Sew classroom to try the latest in embroidery design.  This year, we are doing the Hoopsister’s Sisterhood Retreats as our Embroidery Club. Each month will have a separate theme and we will do one of the projects from said theme. You will then receive the designs for that month’s theme at the end of class.

“Valentine’s Gift Box”

Do you need a Gift Box for Valentine’s Day? Look no further as this is the project we will be doing for the month of January.


No limit in the size of hoop or machine.  A working experience with your machine is recommended for this club.  Class is open to all embroidery machines, but registration priority is given to Let’s Sew embroidery machine owners.

Limit of 7 students can be enrolled per month.

HoopSisters “Sisterhood”

We’ve had many compliments on our display of quilts created using the HoopSisters embroidery patterns.  The opportunity to learn to make your own incredible quilt is here again starting May 12 from 10:30am – 1:30pm and running every 2nd Saturday for 10 months.

The dates are:  May 12, June 9, July 21 (will meet from 10am-1pm), August 11, September 8, October 13, November 10, December 8, 2018, and January 12 & February 9 in 2019.

The design being taught is the 2018 HoopSisters EmbroidaBlock of the Month, “Sisterhood”.  This beautiful Celtic Knot design is pieced, decoratively stitched, and quilted all in the hoop of your embroidery machine.

The cost of the 10-month class is $180, plus the cost of fabrics.  Only two fabrics and thread are required for the front of the quilt.  A border design CD is included in the cost of your registration.

Take advantage of this once a year experience, bring your embroidery machine and join us for a memorable quilting event!

Quilting 101 – FULL

Quilting 101 is a four-week class series designed to teach students who have never quilted before. You will leave with a finished quilt at the end of week four.

  • PLEASE NOTE:  REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT FOR THE 4-WEEK SERIES MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS.  SPOTS ARE LIMITED, SO ENROLL NOW!  CALL (812) 471-7945, stop in the store or register online.

Some homework may be required with this class. All materials can and should be bought before class starts except for fabric, which will be chosen during week one’s class time.

January 16, 2019 || Week One: How to Choose Your Fabrics (3 hours)

During this first class, you’ll learn how to pick colors and/or patterns that compliment each other. Fabrics are not included in the cost of the class however, all students will receive 15% off on each class day.

January 23, 2019 || Week Two: Cutting and Layout (3 hours)

This class will go over how to use a quilting ruler, a rotary cutter and how to cut your quilt pieces to an exact size. You will learn how to arrange your quilt in an attractive way.

January 30, 2019 || Week Three: Sewing Your Quilt (3 hours)

Week three will go over how to sew and press your quilt. You will also learn how to layer squares the correct way. Matching seams and corners will be emphasized.

February 6, 2019 || Week Four: Quilt and Bind (3 hours)

You will wrap up class by quilting and binding your quilt.

A supply list will be given at the time of registration.

COST IS $90. Class is from 5:30pm – 8:30pm each week.

Intro to Sewing – FULL

Interested in learning (or re-learning if it’s been awhile!) how to sew?  Join us in our Intro to Sewing class to learn the basics of sewing.

  • PLEASE NOTE:  REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT FOR CLASS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO THE FIRST CLASS.  CLASS IS LIMITED TO 4 STUDENTS, SO ENROLL NOW!  CALL (812) 471-7945 Or Register Online

Cost: $35

This class will go over getting comfortable at a sewing machine – it’s not as scary as it looks, we promise! – basic stitches and seams. You’ll also learn correct pressing and pinning techniques.

Kits are provided, which is our way of saying everything you need to create a skirt apron (pictured above) will be here waiting for you. Our sewing classroom is stocked with Baby Lock sewing machines, cutting mats, rotary cutters and irons to make this intro course fun and easy.

Why create a skirt apron? We chose this project because the gingham (checkered) fabric gives you good, built-in guidelines to help you sew a straight seam. The skirt apron pattern also uses simple sewing techniques and seams that you’ll be able to use and build on for future projects.

Quilting 102

Thursday, Jan. 17-Feb. 7, 2019 from 1:30PM-4:30PM

The Quilting 102 class will build upon the knowledge of Quilting 101. The student will learn new techniques to create a more complicated quilt design.

  • Registration must be paid before Class 1 Starts. You can Register by Stopping into the store, calling us at 812-471-7945 or by registering online.

Homework is required with this class. All materials can and should be bought before class starts except for fabric, which will be chosen during week one’s class time.  You are not guaranteed to have a completed project at the end of 4 weeks, but you will have the knowledge and tools necessary to complete it on your own.

January 17, 2019 || Week One: Choosing Your Fabrics, Cutting and Labeling (3 Hours)

During this first class, you’ll learn how to pick colors and/or patterns starting with the Border fabric which will be the focal fabric, then pick 5 fabrics that complement that focal fabric and each other or fabrics that you like. You will cut and label each fabric.  You will cut and sew the 9 patch.

January 24, 2019 || Week Two: Strips, Flying Geese, Star Block (3 Hours)

You will learn how to cut long strips of length of fabric, how to make Flying Geese and how to sew the Star Block.

January 31, 2019 || Week Three: Top Construction (3 Hours)

You will learn how to sew the 9 Patch and Star Blocks together to make the top and how to cut and sew borders.

February 7, 2019 || Week Four: Wrap Up (3 Hours)

You will wrap up class by finishing the top and discuss layering, binding and completing your quilt.

Beginning Garment Sewing

Are you ready to start sewing your own wardrobe?

Beginning Garment Sewing is a four-part series that will lead you through sewing your own button down shirt. You will learn everything from choosing a pattern size to putting the finishing touches on your hems.
